Q: Can you expedite shipping?

A: Yes!  Please call our office and we can assist you with finding the best shipping method to meet your needs.  

 

Q: Do you offer discounts for bulk purchases?

A: Yes! If you are anticipating a bulk order, please send us a message via email or our contact form, or call our office and ask for Bryan, our Product Sales Manager, and he can offer you a discount for bulk purchases. 

 

Q: What is your return policy?

A: Please send your items back to our office within 30 days of your order.  Once received, we will process a refund for all items returned. 

 

Q: Where can I purchase your products? 

A: Our products are available online on our website and on Amazon.  We also sell our products directly from our location in Burnt Hills and at a few local Curtis Lumber stores.  

Attic Hatch FAQs:

Q: Will this product pass code?

A: The short answer is it depends.  We can provide design reports for all of our products which are stamped by an engineer who is licensed in NY, CT, CO and DE.  If you are not located in one of these states, you have a few options: you can either take our design report to an engineer that is licensed in your state and have them review and stamp it and then submit that to your building/codes department or you can contact your building/codes department to see if they will accept our design report outright.  We recommend contacting your building/codes department before purchasing to ensure there won’t be any future issues. 

 

Q: Is there a design report available for this product?

A: Yes, you can find the design report here: Attic Hatch Design Report, or if you need a report more specific to your property, we can provide one for $99.  

Basement Wall Strap FAQs:

Q: Can a homeowner install this product?  How easy/difficult is the process? 

A: Yes, a homeowner can install this product and requires minimal tools.  The process is fairly simple, please contact our office for more information.  An installation video will be coming soon. 

 

Q: Is this a permanent fix?

A: Yes, this product should provide a permanent fix for a bowing foundation wall.

 

Q: Will this product pass code?

Insta-Footing FAQs:

Q: What types of surfaces can this plate rest on?

A: Dirt/Earth or Concrete

 

Q: What if my concrete floor is not at least 3.5 inches thick?

A: Insta-Footings can still be used but at a lesser load rating.  Please call our office for more details. 

 

Q: What if my concrete slab is not level?

A: You can purchase any self-leveling caulk to resolve this issue.

Joist Repair Kit FAQs:

Q: Will this strap work for my unique situation?

A: For specific information relating to the design, installation, and application of our product, please review our design report which includes tables for analyzing if this product will work for your floor joist based on the size of the joist the size of the notch.  If you’re still not sure, email us a picture and we will confirm that our product will work for you. 

 

Q: Which size kit should I buy?

Q: I don’t have access to the bottom of the joist because the ceiling of the room below is sheet rocked.  Can the strap be applied to the top or the side of the joist?

A: Yes, but it will not be as strong or effective as placing it on the bottom of the joist.  We can provide a design report that is specific to your damaged joist to see if a side strap installation will be adequate. 

 

Q: Will this product pass code?

Q: Is this a permanent fix?

A: Yes, this product should provide a permanent fix for a cut, notched or damaged floor joist.

 

Q: Is there a design report for this product?

A: Yes! Q: Can this product be used for I-Joists?

A: The short answer is yes, but we would likely request pictures and a description of the area in order to provide confirmation that our product will be effective.

Q: In what State’s are your engineers licensed?

A: Our engineers are currently licensed in NY, DE, CT, and CO and we are working on acquiring licenses for NJ, MA and PA.
